Baylor Edges Kansas for Best Odds to Win 2022-23 Big 12 Basketball Title

NCAA Basketball: Big 12 Championship-Iowa State vs West Virginia

The 2022-23 Big 12 basketball season is set to get underway in just a couple of weeks and should be the best conference in basketball yet again this season.

Baylor and Kansas tied for fifth in the initial AP Poll of the season, while Texas (No. 12), TCU (No. 14), and Texas Tech (No. 25) are all ranked as well. The other five schools (Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Iowa State, West Virginia, and Kansas State) are all ranked in the Top 80 of the Preseason Kenpom Ratings, with Oklahoma (28th) and Oklahoma State (30th) both right outside the Top 25.

BetOnline has released the latest odds for who will hoist the Big 12 trophy at year’s end, and not surprisingly, Baylor and Kansas are right at the top.

2022-23 Big 12 Basketball Preseason Odds

  • Baylor Bears – 2/1 (+200)
  • Kansas Jayhawks – 21/10 (+210)
  • Texas Longhorns – 7/2 (+350)
  • Texas Tech Red Raiders – 8/1 (+800)
  • TCU Horned Frogs – 9/10 (+900)
  • Oklahoma Sooners – 33/1 (+3300)
  • Oklahoma State Cowboys – 33/1 (+3300)
  • Iowa State Cyclones – 50/1 (+5000)
  • West Virginia Mountaineers – 50/1 (+5000)
  • Kansas State – 100/1 (+10000)

Much like the 2022 football season, the Big 12 basketball season will be hard-fought and close throughout, with several teams being in the hunt for the title deep into the season. While Baylor and Kansas are the favorites, there are five teams with odds better than 10/1, meaning that there are five teams that could very easily win the conference, and all ten teams are at or under 100/1, so there doesn’t look to be any teams that will be considered an easy win on the conference schedule.
