Four Big 12 Players Highlight 2022-23 NABC Player of the Year Preseason Watchlist

The 2022-23 college basketball season is right around the corner and preseason watchlists are starting to drop and Big 12 players are littered across national lists all over the nation.

One of the most prolific awards, the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Player of the Year Award, released its preseason list on Thursday and the Big 12 was well-represented.

Four players from the conference are mentioned with Baylor leading the way as the only team in the country with two players on the list with guards Adam Flagler and Keyonte George. Both Flagler and George look to be key pieces on a Baylor squad that was picked to win the Big 12 in the preseason poll.

Kansas F Jalen Wilson also made the list, coming off a 2021-22 campaign in which he averaged 11.1 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game, shooting 46.1% from the floor. Wilson decided to return for one more season at Kansas after testing the NBA Draft waters and finding that he could further improve his game in college.

TCU guard Mike Miles Jr. is the final Big 12 player on the watchlist and is expected to have a huge year. In fact, Miles was selected as the Preseason Big 12 Player of the Year. Last season, Miles averaged 15.4 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game and will be a major part of TCU’s success in 2022-23.
