Oklahoma State QB Spencer Sanders Out vs. Kansas

NCAA Football: Tulsa at Oklahoma State

Oklahoma State’s quarterback situation will be decided right before kick off against Kansas, but we know for certain it won’t be starter Spencer Sanders.

According to the Cowboys Radio Network, Sanders is out, and it will be either Gunnar Gundy or Garret Rangel to start against the Kansas Jayhawks in Lawrence on Saturday.

Spencer Sanders‘ status has been a hot topic for the last couple of weeks in Stillwater.

Gundy played last week in place of Sanders, finishing 2 of 7 for 16 yards with one interception, while he rushed five times for 27 yards. In a blowout of Arkansas Pine-Bluff early in the season, Gundy got his most playing time, going 12 of 20 for 128 yards with two touchdown passes, while rushing for 42 yards.

Meantime, Garret Rangel is a true freshman, who was a 4-star prospect coming out of Frisco, Texas.

Regardless of which QB gets the nod, it will be a huge drop off in experience from Sanders.

Kansas also has a quarterback injury problem to monitor on its hands. Jalon Daniels has been out since October 8th when he got injured against TCU. According to a new report, Jason Bean is expected to start on Saturday for a third-straight game, however Daniels could end up playing depending on how he is feeling during warm ups.

Kansas vs. Oklahoma State kicks off at 2:30 p.m. CST on FOX Sports 1.
