Oklahoma State Men’s Basketball Starts Assembling 2023 Recruiting Class

Mike Boynton Jr.

The Oklahoma State Cowboys men’s basketball team began assembling talent for its 2023-24 team as the NCAA’s early-signing period opened on Wednesday.

The Cowboys, led by coach Mike Boynton Jr., is coming off a 2021-22 in which it was ineligible for postseason action due to NCAA sanctions stemming from a recruiting violation that occurred five years ago.

Boynton remains highly critical of the NCAA’s decision to not only uphold the penalty but sit on the program’s appeal for a year before making a decision. But, at Big 12 Media Day, he joked that his program might be a footnote as the last program to get a postseason ban in Division I basketball.

Before the signing period, the Cowboys had four commitments, including a Top 40 national player as ranked by — center Brandon Garrison from Oklahoma City, Okla.

The Cowboys announced the signings of all four players on Wednesday.

Oklahoma State’s 2023 recruiting class is below. Players who confirmed as signed are noted below. The list below also includes the Cowboys’ season-opening roster.

The early-signing window closes on Nov. 16.
