Texas Men’s Basketball Begins Assembling 2023 Recruiting Class

The Texas Longhorns men’s basketball team began assembling talent for its 2023-24 team as the NCAA’s early-signing period opened on Wednesday.

The Longhorns, led by coach Chris Beard, is coming off a 2021-22 in which it reached the NCAA Tournament and won a first-round game for the first time since the Rick Barnes era. The Longhorns lost in the second round but pulled a top-notch recruiting class for 2022 and pulled several transfers, including Iowa State guard Tyrese Hunter.   


Before the signing period, the Longhorns had just one commitment, but it was a big one. Duncanville (Texas) forward Ron Holland committed to Texas on Saturday. Holland was ranked No. 10 in the country by and considered the state of Texas’ No. 1 recruit.

The Longhorns announced Holland’s signing on Friday.

Texas’ 2023 recruiting class is below. Players who confirmed as signed are noted below. The list below also includes the Longhorns’ season-opening roster.

The early-signing window closes on Nov. 16.
