TCU Remains No. 4, Leads Three Big 12 Teams in Latest College Football Playoff Rankings

After defeating the Texas Longhorns 17-10 in Austin last weekend, the TCU Horned Frogs have remained unbeaten and still sit fourth in the latest College Football Playoff rankings, which were released Tuesday night.

TCU trails No. 1 Georgia, No. 2 Ohio State and No. 3 Michigan, and is followed by Tennessee, LSU, USC and Alabama.

TCU is joined from the Big 12 by Kansas State, who comes in at No. 15 after a 31-3 shellacking of Baylor in Waco on Saturday night. The Wildcats have quietly worked themselves into quite a position and could be guaranteed a spot in the Sugar Bowl if they face an undefeated TCU team in the Big 12 Championship.

A win over TCU there would secure their bid to play in the Sugar Bowl, while a loss would leave them the runner-up to a 13-0 TCU, again, sending them to the Sugar Bowl with TCU playoff-bound. But, before they get there, K-State needs to take care of business against West Virginia and Kansas over the next two weeks.

The third and final Big 12 team in the College Football Playoff rankings is Oklahoma State, which comes in at No. 22. The Pokes got back on the winning side of things with a 20-14 victory over Iowa State last week, and will head into Bedlam with a 7-3 record. While not out of it, Oklahoma State will need K-State to drop a game and win out to get into the Big 12 Title game.
