Former Four-Star Oklahoma QB Nick Evers Enters Transfer Portal

Oklahoma quarterback Nick Evers announced on Saturday that he would be entering the transfer portal this offseason.
Evers is a former four-star quarterback, according to 247Sports, where he was a Top 10 quarterback in the Class of 2022 and the Flower Mound, Texas native was a Top 25 player in his state and Top 200 player nationally.
Here’s what Evers put on social media on Saturday morning.
Evers only attempted one pass this season against Texas.
With the expectation that Dillon Gabriel will return to Norman and five-star Jackson Arnold coming to Norman as part of the Class of 2023, it was going to be difficult for Evers to see playing time in the short term in Norman.
Evers was initially committed to Florida, but after the coaching change following last season, Evers became a priority for new offensive coordinator Jeff Lebby, and Evers became an important piece in Oklahoma’s 2022 recruiting class.
Evers held several top offers, including Auburn, Colorado, Cincinnati, Houston, Iowa, Kansas, Louisville, Ole Miss, Penn State, TCU, Texas Tech, Tulsa, and Virginia Tech.
So now, we will wait and see if OU looks to add quarterback depth this offseason, as they will only return Dillon Gabriel and Davis Beville with FBS experience.
