Guaranteed Rate Bowl: Oklahoma State Selected to Play Wisconsin

The Oklahoma State Cowboys have been selected to play in the Guaranteed Rate Bowl where they will take on the Wisconsin, according to Action Network’s Brett McMurphy.
The Cowboys finished the season with a 7-5 record and tied for 5th place in the Big 12 with a 4-5 conference record. It was a tale of two halves of the season for the Cowboys, who got off to a 6-1 start and a Top 10 ranking before crumbling down the stretch, losing four of their last five games.
Wisconsin finished its season with a 6-6 record, falling to Minnesota to end the regular season, as they finished in fifth place in the Big Ten West.
The Cowboys have been a dangerous team to face in bowl games. Last season, they came back to beat Notre Dame in the Fiesta Bowl 37-35. The Pokes have won two bowl games in a row and five of their last six bowl games. The only bowl game they have lost over that stretch is the Texas Bowl 24-21 to Texas A&M.
One less-known fact about Mike Gundy‘s postseason success is how high it ranks in college football history. In fact, after the 2021 season, Gundy’s 11 career bowl wins rank among the top 10 all-time in college football.
