Welcome to Fact or Fiction Friday. Each Friday I give you the opportunity to ask the most intriguing questions in the Big 12 Conference and I will tell you whether they come true or if they are set to fail. I apologize for my disappearance as I have been battling the flu over the last week. Let’s crack it open and see what we have in store this week with all of your questions from Facebook and Twitter.

Will Oklahoma and Texas lose their bowl games?

Fact: I am almost certain Oklahoma will fall short in the Cheez-It Bowl against a Top-15 Florida State team. The Seminoles have pretty much their entire team playing and that defensive line of theirs is going to be a serious mismatch against Oklahoma’s offensive line with their two starting tackles out. As for Texas, they get a good Washington team down here in San Antonio in the Alamo Bowl. Normally, the Longhorns have played well in the Alamodome, but this Washington team has played some solid football late in the season. A lot is going to depend on Quinn Ewers and how he performs, and I don’t expect Bijan Robinson to play either. Give me Washington in the Alamo Bowl as well.

The Pac-12 implodes in the next five years.

Fact: You could say in the next three years, and I would still probably say yes. The Pac-12 is in trouble and as much as the west coast liars, I mean writers, want to deny that fact, it’s true. UCLA and USC are out the door in 2024. Once that happens, I believe the Pac-12 is fair game. Everyone knows that Washington and Oregon are wanted by every conference out there and both schools are hoping for a Big Ten invite. It will happen and then the dominoes will start to fall, which I will get to in my next question here on the list.

The Big 12 add teams from the Pac-12.

Fact: It’s going to happen. I don’t know who or when, but it is going to happen. Heck, I don’t even know how many but guess what, IT WILL HAPPEN. My guess is that the Arizona schools will be the two newest additions to the Big 12 Conference and then maybe Utah and Colorado. I know that everyone around the Pac-12 is talking about sticking together, but once two more schools leave after USC and UCLA, that conference is going to crumble like a soft cookie. Just give it some time is all.

Brock Purdy is the best Big 12 quarterback in the NFL.

False: Finally, my first false answer here. I love Brock Purdy. He was fun to watch at Iowa State and left Ames as the most accomplished quarterback in school history there. Anyone that watched him play in college knows what he is capable of and shouldn’t shocked at his early success in the NFL. However, is he better than Patrick Mahomes, Jalen Hurts or Kyler Murray? I can’t say that after just three games. If he keeps this high level of play for the rest of the season and makes a playoff run? Then we can have that discussion.

Missouri ducked Kansas in the Liberty Bowl.

Fact: This is not just a fact but it’s a BIG FACT. I don’t care what anyone from Missouri says because Eli Drinkwitz ran from this game like his life depended on it. This is a man who has never won a bowl game at Missouri and has never won more than seven games in his three seasons as a head coach there. For whatever reason, he is always in the spotlight for his smart remarks about other schools, yet he has won nothing at Missouri. They are coming off a 6-6 season where Kansas State kicked their butt 40-12 and I am sure he doesn’t want the other Kansas school to kick it again.
