Four-Star DL Dylan Spencer Commits to Texas Tech

NCAA Football: Montana State at Texas Tech

Days before the Early Signing Period, the Texas Tech Red Raiders have added four-star defensive lineman Dylan Spencer from C.E. King High School in Houston, Texas.

Spencer is 6’4”, 240 pounds, and is listed as a three-star recruit by 247Sports, but the 247Sports composite has him as a four-star prospect. The composite has him ranked as a Top 50 defensive lineman in the country and a Top 60 player in Texas.

Spencer made his announcement on Twitter on Monday night.

Spencer recently visited Lubbock and ultimately picked Texas Tech over Texas, LSU, Texas A&M, Baylor and several others.

Texas Tech’s class is now ranked in the Top 25 in the country, according to 247Sports, with 26 hard commits. And for those who haven’t been following the Red Raiders, this is not shaping up to be your father’s Tech football program.

Of Texas Tech’s Top 4 recruits, all of them are defensive prospects. The top recruit is four-star safety Jordan Sanford, then EDGE Isaiah Crawford, along with safety Brenden Jordan and then Spencer. All four are also in-state prospects.

Texas Tech will take on Ole Miss later this month in the Texas Bowl.
