Big 12 Basketball

Daily Fantasy Picks for Oklahoma-Florida Basketball

Oklahoma’s game with Florida on Tuesday night is part of seven games in the Draft Kings Daily Fantasy Sports for men’s college basketball on Tuesday.

This season, when Big 12 games is part of the pool at Draft Kings, we’ll provide our recommendations for who to take that night. In this case, the recommendations are for a Classic game, which features eight players — three guards, three forwards and two guard/forwards (utility). The lineup must contain players from at least two different games. The salary cap is $50,000.

The goal is to fill out a complete Big 12 lineup. On nights when there is just one Big 12 team in the pool, we will fill out the remainder of the lineup with players from the rest of the pool of games.

Here are Tuesday’s recommendations:

Guard: Grant Sherfield ($7,500)

If you’re going to put together a fantasy lineup around Oklahoma, Sherfield has to be part of it. Incredibly, his cap figure is more than $2,000 below the top end of the seven games, even though he may be one of the best 3-point shooters in any of these games. That’s his value here. He shoots 55.4 percent from the 3-point line right now. Sign me up.

Forward: Tanner Groves ($6,600)

His brother, Jacob Groves, is coming off a career game and you know Florida has been watching that film carefully. I wouldn’t rule out another big game. But Tanner is going to help in other categories like rebounds and assists where you’ll get less help from Jacob.

Utility: F Jalen Hill ($5,200)

He’s the value pick in this game because of his fantasy average on the road. He’s averaged seven points more in three road games than in the Sooners’ eight home games. That includes the Sooners’ ESPN Invitational Games. So, you get the salary value and you get a player with a good track record on the road.

The rest of the lineup

With $30,700 left over, this is how I would fill out my lineup with the remaining games in the pool — Georgetown at UConn, Duke at Wake Forest, Marquette at Providence, Seton Hall at Xavier, Virginia at Miami (FL) and Pittsburgh at Syracuse (as of Tuesday morning):

G – Tristen Newton, UConn ($6,900)

G – Tyrese Proctor, Duke ($5,100)

F – Jesse Edwards, Syracuse ($9,500)

F – Federiko Federiko, Pittsburgh ($5,000)

UTIL – Jayden Pierre, Providence ($4,200)

Scoring system: Point: +1 Pt; Made 3pt Shot: +0.5 Pts; Rebound: +1.25 Pts; Assist: +1.5 Pts; Steal: +2 Pts; Block: +2 Pts; Turnover: -0.5 Pts; Double-Double (Max 1 Per Player: Points, Rebounds, Assists, Blocks, Steals) +1.5 Pts; Triple-Double: Max 1 Per Player (Points, Rebounds, Assists, Blocks, Steals): +3 Pts
