West Virginia defensive lineman Jordan Jefferson has found a new home as the former Mountaineer has announced his plans to transfer to LSU ahead of the 2023 season.
Jefferson played in all 12 games for West Virginia this past season at nose tackle and finished the year with 31 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss, 3.0 sacks, and five pass deflections.
Since joining the team in 2019, Jefferson had worked his way into being a consistent contributor for the Mountaineers’ defense but felt the need to move on after a 5-7 season in 2023.
Despite playing in 40 games over four years, Jefferson could have multiple years of eligibility left, thanks in part to a shortened COVID-19 year in 2020.
Out of high school, Jefferson was rated as a three-star prospect and the No. 112 defensive lineman in the 2019 class, according to 247Sports.
Now, at 6-3, 210 pounds, Jefferson was viewed as one of the top transfer defensive linemen in the transfer portal this cycle and is a big get for the Tigers, who were in need of help along the interior of the defensive line.
