In a somewhat surprising move, Oklahoma State wide receiver John Paul Richardson has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal, according to GoPokes247.

Richardson, who is fresh off of being voted a captain for the Guaranteed Rate Bowl, is the latest offensive weapon, and the sixth starter, that the Cowboys are watching walk out the door.

Richardson appeared in all 13 games of the 2022 season for Oklahoma State and was one of the Pokes’ best receivers on the year. He had the second-most receptions (49) and receiving touchdowns (4) on a Cowboys’ offense that struggled to make plays down the stretch.

Richardson, listed at 6-0, 180 pounds, played in 23 career games over two seasons in Stillwater and will have up to three years of eligibility remaining wherever he ends up.

Listed as a three-star out of high school in the 2021 recruiting class out of Missouri City, Texas, Richardson ranked as the No. 177 receiver and No. 179 overall recruit regardless of position in Texas for the class, according to 247Sports.

Before signing with Oklahoma State, Richardson also had offers from Arizona, Arkansas, Georgia Tech, Houston, Illinois, Kansas, Louisiana Tech, New Mexico, Northwestern, Ole Miss, Rice, Sam Houston State, TCU, Texas Southern, Texas State, Tulane, Tulsa, UNLV, Utah State and Virginia Tech.
