Oklahoma State has landed a commitment from Leon Johnson III, a wide receiver from Division III George Fox University (Oregon).

In 2022, Johnson had 55 catches for 1,156 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns for the Bruins and was named AFCA D-III First-Team All-American and the conference offensive player of the year.

Listed at 6-5, 207 pounds, Johnson is a big target and will be a welcome addition for transfer quarterback Alan Bowman next season.

The Cowboys are starting to rebuild a wide receiver room that has been ravaged as of late by the transfer portal.

Last week, we saw three wideouts enter the transfer portal as John Paul Richardson, Bryson Green, and Stephon Johnson all decided to test the waters elsewhere. Add to that Langston Anderson and Braylin Presley leaving as well and the room has been completely decimated.

Adding in a target like Leon Johnson will help, plus the additions of WR De’Zhaun Stribling, RB Sean Tyler, and TE Josiah Johnson will give Oklahoma State some experienced weapons to work with. However, losing five wideouts to the portal and just adding two back just won’t cut it at this level. Oklahoma State still has work to do, but this is a great start.
