Former Oklahoma State WR John Paul Richardson Transfers to TCU

Last week we saw a flurry of players hit the transfer portal from Oklahoma State and perhaps the most concerning was wide receiver John Paul Richardson.

Now, just around a week later, Richardson has announced that he will stay in the Big 12, but will be a TCU Horned Frogs starting in 2023.

Richardson, who is fresh off of being voted a captain for the Guaranteed Rate Bowl, is the latest offensive weapon to commit elsewhere and is one of 16 scholarship players that the Cowboys are watching walk out the door.

Richardson appeared in all 13 games of the 2022 season for Oklahoma State and was one of the Pokes’ best receivers on the year. He had the second-most receptions (49) and receiving touchdowns (4) on a Cowboys’ offense that struggled to make plays down the stretch.

Richardson, listed at 6-0, 180 pounds, played in 23 career games over two seasons in Stillwater and will have up to three years of eligibility remaining when he arrives in Fort Worth.

Listed as a three-star out of high school in the 2021 recruiting class out of Missouri City, Texas, Richardson ranked as the No. 177 receiver and No. 179 overall recruit regardless of position in Texas for the class, according to 247Sports.
