LSU QB Walker Howard Expected to Visit TCU: Report

NCAA Football: Texas Christian at Colorado

Freshman LSU quarterback Walker Howard is making the rounds following his decision to enter the transfer portal on Friday.

247Sports reported that Howard is expected to visit and tour Ole Miss and follow up his visit with the Rebels by taking a trip to Fort Worth. Howard is a former four-star quarterback from Lafayette Louisianna is looking for a new home following his departure from Baton Rouge.

Coming out of high school, Howard was a Top 40 recruit and Top 5 quarterback prospect, according to the 247Sports composite.

TCU’s quarterback room has been left pretty empty with Max Duggan heading to the draft paired with the departure of Sam Jackson to the transfer portal. Chandler Morris who beat out Duggan for the starting job in Week One is set to return, but as the Horned Frogs know all too well, depth at the position is key heading into a college football season.

There are still a few big-name quarterbacks left to decide on where they will be transferring including former Oklahoma State signal caller Spencer Sanders. In fact, the movement at the position around the sport thanks to the transfer portal could result in half the Big 12 teams having different quarterbacks come 2023. Baylor is looking for competition with Blake Shapen, Oklahoma State has moved on from Spencer Sanders, TCU, Texas could take a serious look at Arch Manning and West Virginia’s spot is up in the air.

If nothing else, all this movement at the position makes for fun off-season chatter.
