Big 12 Men’s Basketball Week 11 Preview: Games to Watch, Schedule, TV Info

The 11th week of the 2022-23 Big 12 men’s basketball season is here. Our Week 11 primer gets you ready for the week ahead in Big 12 basketball.
This is the third full week of Big 12 action, with games on Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday.
Below you’ll find our top three Big 12 games of the week, our sneaky good game of the week, notes to watch, the week’s schedule with TV information and links to other useful college basketball information during the season. Plus, keep up with the site throughout the week for our Daily Fantasy Picks with Draft Kings on those nights when there’s a Big 12 team — or teams — in the pool.
Top Three Games of the Week
Kansas at Kansas State, Tuesday. I’m not sure what else one has to say. The two teams are ranked in the Top 25 and it’s for state bragging rights. Watch it.
Texas at Iowa State, Tuesday. Two incredibly good defenses tangle in Hilton Coliseum with the Cyclones trying to bounce back after its narrow loss to Kansas.
TCU at Kansas, Saturday. The two teams split last season, and the Horned Frogs are probably better this year than last year. Kansas always seems to find a way at home (see Saturday against Iowa State).
Sneaky Good Game of the Week
Oklahoma at Oklahoma State, Wednesday. I mean it’s Bedlam, of course. But these are two teams that are trying to keep themselves in the NCAA Tournament hunt.
Five Players to Watch
G Gabe Kalscheur, Iowa State: He’s averaging 19 points per game in Big 12 action, which is nearly eight points better than his season average. When ISU needs a big basket it goes to him.
G Markquis Nowell, Kansas State: After his worst game in Big 12 play against TCU on Saturday, Nowell will clearly be looking for redemption against Kansas.
F Kalib Boone, Oklahoma State: He’s averaging nearly 12 points in Big 12 play. Until Moussa Cisse gets healthy, the Cowboys need every bit of offense Boone can give them.
F Dillon Mitchell, Texas: I’m not sure it leads to sustainable success for Texas, but Mitchell leads them in rebounding in Big 12 games (5.2).
F Tre Mitchell, West Virginia: 15.4 points and 9.0 rebounds in Big 12 play tell you everything you need to know about what Mitchell means to the Mountaineers.
Team to Watch
TCU. It’s the first truly big road trip of the Big 12 slate. The Horned Frogs are away from home all week, heading to Morgantown to take on West Virginia on Wednesday and then to Allen Fieldhouse to face Kansas on Saturday in a national game on CBS. The Mountaineers are truly desperate at 0-5 in Big 12 play and they’re so close to getting a win. Playing Kansas on the road is nearly impossible. The Horned Frogs need a split, at worst. Neither opponent will make easy.
