Oklahoma State has made its 13th roster addition through the transfer portal as Western Kentucky punter Wes Pahl has announced that he is committed to the Cowboys for the 2023 season.
Pahl made the announcement on Thursday evening, and has three years of eligibility remaining in Stillwater.
Originally part of the Hilltoppers 2020 recruiting class, Pahl did not a appear in a game for Western Kentucky in 2020 or 2021, allowing him to use a redshirt year and his COVID year to retain what eligibility he has.
Oklahoma State’s starting punter in 2022, Tom Hutton, had an ACL injury late in the season and was forced to hang up his cleats with no eligibility remaining. That means that the Cowboys were certainly in a position to take a punter and they did just that on Thursday.
OSU has seen several key players enter the transfer portal this offseason, including four-year starting quarterback Spencer Sanders, but has done a decent job in trying to offset some of those losses on the roster.
Replacing the lost production will be a tall task for Mike Gundy, but if there is anyone that can make more out of less, it’s the 19th-year head coach in Stillwater, OK.
