Oklahoma Lands In-State Linebacker Taylor Heim

The Oklahoma Sooners have landed a solid late piece to their 2023 recruiting class.
Bethany, Oklahoma linebacker Taylor Heim announced on Friday night that he would be committing to the Sooners, saying in his Twitter post, “Thank you coach Venables and the entire OU staff for giving me this opportunity. With that being said, I am committing to the University of Oklahoma!”
Heim is listed by 247sports as a three-star prospect and the No. 11 recruit in Oklahoma, while coming in at the No. 76 linebacker in the country. He is not ranked according to the 247Sports composite. Heim had also taken official visits to Tulsa, Air Force, Louisiana Tech and Ohio.
Oklahoma’s 2023 class is ranked No. 6 in the nation and No. 2 in the Big 12, according to 247Sports. The Sooners’ class is led by three five-star players in quarterback Jackson Arnold, safety Peyton Bowen and EDGE Adepoju Adebawore.
While the Early Signing Period wrapped up in December, the next Signing Day comes on Wednesday, February 1st. Oklahoma is looking to re-load and bounce back from a 6-7 record in Brent Venables’ first season as the head coach in Norman.
