On Saturday, two of the bottom three teams in the Big 12 basketball standings will face off in a must-win game in Morgantown with the Oklahoma Sooners (12-10, 2-7) taking on the West Virginia Mountaineers (13-9, 2-7).

The Sooners are coming off a disappointing 71-61 loss to Oklahoma State which knocked them out of Joe Lunardi’s Bracketology in exchange for the Cowboys, who took their spot in the “Last Four In” category.

Meanwhile, West Virginia is coming off a crushing defeat at TCU, losing 76-72 in a game that was certainly winnable for Bob Huggins’ squad.

Both teams appear to be at a sort of crossroads at this point in the season, meaning that the team that comes out victorious on Saturday night could see their season stay alive. while the other would fall another pace back in the conference race.

West Virginia head coach Bob Huggins knows the importance of this game, and he hopes that the Mountaineers’ fan base does as well.

Tip is set for 7:00 p.m. CT in the WVU Coliseum, with both Bob Huggins and Porter Moser desperately needing to lead their teams to victories this weekend.
