Texas Flips Four-Star DB Warren Roberson From TCU

NCAA Football: Texas at Iowa State

After TCU ran its way into the history books with a historic season, the Horned Frogs have a lot to replace if they hope to compete for a Big 12 title again in 2023. With big questions at quarterback and several other key positions, plus the departure of offensive coordinator Garrett Riley to Clemson, TCU has a tough road ahead.

Now, TCU has another hurdle to deal with as four-star safety Warren Roberson has announced his decision to commit to Texas, flipping from his former commitment team in TCU.

Roberson had been previously committed to the Horned Frogs since October 31, 2022, so this news comes as a bit of a shock.

Roberson is the 270th-overall prospect and 19-best safety in the 2023 cycle, and the 51st-best player in the state of Texas according to the On3 Consensus.

TCU’s 2023 class now ranks 20th nationally, while Texas remains fourth nationally in this cycle.

The four-star safety joins one of the nation’s top recruiting classes in Texas joining five-star players like quarterback Arch Manning, linebacker Anthony Hill, running back Cedrick Baxter, and wide receiver Johntay Cook II. Roberson becomes the 15th four-star player to join the Longhorns program and if I had to guess, Steve Sarkisian’s group will make a serious run at the title.
