Seven Big 12 Players on Naismith Midseason Men’s Watch List

NCAA Basketball: West Virginia at Kansas

Seven Big 12 men’s basketball players are on the 2023 Naismith Men’s Player of the Year Midseason Watch List released earlier this week.

Those players are Texas guard Marcus Carr, Baylor guard Adam Flagler, Baylor guard Keyonte George, Kansas State forward Keyontae Johnson, TCU guard Mike Miles Jr, Kansas State guard Markquis Nowell and Kansas forward Jalen Wilson.

Carr averages 17 points per game for the Longhorns, who at the moment are in first place in the Big 12 standings.

Flagler and George have fueled Baylor’s bounce-back from an 0-3 start in league play. Flagler is averaging 15.4 points per game, while George is averaging 17.5 points per game.

Johnson and Nowell have helped engineer Kansas State’s incredible turnaround this season. Johnson is averaging 18 points per game while Nowell is averaging 16.9 points per game.

Miles is currently out of the lineup with a hyperextended knee. But before the injury he was averaging 18.1 points per game.

Wilson leads the Big 12 in scoring with 20.7 points per game.

The winner of the award will be announced later this season.
