The Big 12 Conference is the best in college basketball this season and it is no secret. The Oklahoma State Cowboys are fresh off of an upset win against the 11th-ranked Iowa State Cyclones which saw them jump into the sixth spot in the Big 12.

The Oklahoma State Cowboys have quickly the hottest team in the league (winners of seven of eight) and are solidly, as of now, in the 2023 NCAA Tournament. The most teams that the Big 12 Conference has ever had make it to March Madness has been seven teams, however, with the high level of competition in conference play this year, we could see eight.

The NET Rankings evaluate each team’s overall ranking based on an algorithm that takes into account game results, strength of schedule, game location, scoring margin, net offensive and defensive efficiency, and the overall quality of wins and losses.

Eight teams in the Big 12 Conference have cracked the top 30 and are shaping up to be contenders in the 2023 NCAA Tournament. Joining the Oklahoma State Cowboys (29th) on the list are the Texas Longhorns at seven, the Kansas Jayhawks at eight, the Baylor Bears at 11, Iowa State at 16, Kansas State at 18, TCU at 24, and West Virginia at 25.

Oklahoma State look to remain the hottest team in the league when they take on the ninth-ranked Kansas Jayhawks at home on Tuesday night in what should be another great test for the Cowboys.
