Buddy Hield Breaks Pacers Franchise Record for Three-Pointers Made in a Season

Buddy Hield is really, really, good at basketball. It’s never easy to break records set by NBA Hall of Famers, but the former Oklahoma Sooner found a way to do that against the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday night.

Hield broke NBA HOF Reggie Miller’s longstanding record of most three-pointers made in a single season (229) Wednesday night in a 117-113 win over the Chicago Bulls. Hield’s 230th three-point make of the season came in the final three minutes of regulation and with Hield scoring 27 points, it made for a good night.

Buddy Hield has had his best season as a professional athlete this year with the Pacers and while the record stands for itself, Hield and the pacers should be considered a potential threat in the play-in for the 2023 NBA Playoffs. Hield is averaging 17.5 PPG, 4.9 RPG, and 2.7 APG which all rank among his career best.

The Pacers are currently sitting in 12th in the Eastern Conference but are within striking distance of Chicago, Washington, Toronto, and Atlanta who currently sit in the eighth spot in the Eastern Conference. If the Pacers want to make the jump into the playoffs, Hield will have to continue his stellar season and help lead his team to the promised land.
