Texas Tech Fans are Best Trash Talkers Says TCU Guard Mike Miles Jr.

NCAA Basketball: Final Four-National Championship-Virginia vs Texas Tech

Big 12 fans are some of the best in the nation, that much isn’t up for debate. However, which Big 12 fan base is the best at trash-talking? Now that is something we can argue about.

TCU guard Mike Miles Jr., who made his return in a resounding 100-75 victory over Oklahoma State this past weekend, has an opinion on who does it best, and its the Horned Frogs’ rivals from West Texas.

Recently, during an interview with ESPN, Miles said that Texas Tech’s fanbase is the best at trash-talking.

“Texas Tech is always pretty good,” Miles said. “Their crowd, especially last year. I haven’t played there this year but last year it was pretty tough. Their crowd gets pretty crazy, so the Texas Tech crowd is tough for sure.”

Texas Tech is widely known for its fans’ passion both on the court and on the football field. Night games in Lubbock have long been nightmarish for Big 12 opponents, and games inside United Supermarkets Arena have been tough for the past several years as well.

If one of the best guards in the league, let alone the nation, says the crowd is tough, then that is saying something.

Miles and TCU will head to Lubbock to take on the Red Raiders on Saturday, February 25, in what will be a hostile environment. Texas Tech is red-hot, having won three straight including massive victories over Kansas State and Texas. Tipoff is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. CT, with Texas Tech needing to continue to stack wins in order to make their case for a NCAA Tournament berth.
