Jerome Tang on Oklahoma State: ‘They’re an NCAA Tournament Team’

The Big 12 Conference is on pace to have a potential record nine bids for the 2023 NCAA Tournament and the latest supporter of that reality is head coach Jerome Tang from the K-State Wildcats.
Following the Wildcats 73-68 win over the Oklahoma State Cowboys, Jerome Tang spoke to the media and sang praise for the Oklahoma State program by saying, “Mike [Boynton] does a great job. They’re a really good team. I think they’re an NCAA Tournament team.”
Tang spoke about the high-level of competition in the conference and commended his team for their effort and thanked everyone for their support by saying, “I’m so blessed to do what I do with these young men and they’re just such, such terrific guys and they’re just so much fun to be around and I hope that everyone who watched today saw their heart up there and they just didn’t quit. We told them there was going to be adversity and you had to look adversity in the face and smile, and then slap the crap out of it.”
The Oklahoma State Cowboys are still projected to be a late bid in Joe Lunardi’s most recent bracketology update, even following a loss to the 14th-ranked Wildcats. The Cowboys have two more opportunities to earn key wins against the 9th-ranked Baylor Bears and the surging Texas Tech Red Raiders.
As of now, Lunardi has eight Big 12 teams in the NCAA Tournament, with West Virginia and Oklahoma State the last two in, but the Pokes are in his “Last Four In” category.
The Oklahoma State Cowboys tip off against the Baylor Bears on Monday at 8:00 CST in a contest that the Cowboys could use to solidify their chances to make the 2023 NCAA Tournament.
