K-State CB Julius Brent Shines at NFL Combine

The hype train has left the building and is headed from Manhattan, Kan., straight to the NFL with one passenger on board, K-State cornerback Julius Brents.

Brents has had one of the best showings for a cornerback in recent memory, leading the pack in multiple drills at the 2023 NFL Scouting Combine this season. That includes the broad jump, three-cone shuttle and 20-yard shuttle.

Brents has been one of the hottest names at the cornerback position since the crowning of the Kansas State Wildcats as Big 12 Champions and the conclusion of the 2022-2023 season.

After a standout performance at the Senior Bowl, Brents accepted an invite to the 2023 NFL Scouting Combine and put his range on full display. One of the biggest head-turning stats about Brents is his insane reach, a seven-foot wingspan.

The corner possesses a unique combination of size and speed, clocking in at a 4.53 in the 40-yard dash while standing 6-foot-4 and weighing 202 pounds. Following the conclusion of the season, Brents was viewed as a mid fourth-round pick type of player. However, after the Combine and Senior Bowl performances, Brents has a legitimate chance to be selected near the end of the first round.

The NFL Draft kicks off in Kansas City on April 27 in what should be an emotional day for all players involved. But for Brents, the Draft is only two hours away from where he played college ball.
