Look: Bryce Young Wearing Lifted Shoes at 2023 Combine
Bryce Young’s height has been the story of the offseason leading up to the 2023 NFL Draft, and with general managers, coaches, and scouts prowling around Indianapolis, Young has taken matters into his own hands.
The Alabama product was listed as 6-foot tall during the college football season until measurements at the 2023 Scouting Combine listed him as 5-foot-10 1/8. Young decided that since his height could deter interest from certain franchises, he would wear shoes that added a few inches to his size.
Young was spotted at a check-in desk sporting shoes from NOBULL, who happens to be the sponsor for the Combine this season. The black and white runners he was wearing are said to add up to two inches of height based on the shoe reviews.
Young’s height may push away some NFL franchises, but overall he should be the first name off the board in Kansas City for the 2023 NFL Draft. With his ability, the height should come second in the mind of scouts, as Young is viewed as a generational talent.
Draft night in Kansas City starts on April 27 and goes through the 29th. Fans will be watching Young with every step he takes and constantly comparing his height to any and every item in sight. With Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray at the butt-end of most short jokes in the NFL, Young will have to occupy that space until the jokes wear out.
