Kansas Leads Five Big 12 Teams in Latest AP Top 25 Basketball Poll

The final poll before the Big 12 Basketball Tournament is in, and there are five teams from the Big 12 featured, including three inside the Top 10.
As the toughest conference in all of college basketball the Big 12 has seen its top teams beat each other up over the last several weeks, but there is no doubt that conference play has prepared its teams for deep tournament runs yet again.
At No. 3, the Kansas Jayhawks (25-6) remain the top-ranked team from the Big 12 despite a 16-point loss to Texas this past weekend. Speaking of the Longhorns, Texas (23-8) moved up two spots to No. 7 in this week’s poll and enters the Big 12 tournament as the No. 2 seed behind Kansas.
Baylor (22-9), who was blown out by Iowa State at home this weekend (73-58), fell three spots to No. 10 in this week’s poll.
Kansas State (23-8) comes in at No. 12 in this week’s poll, down one spot from last week, after dropping its final regular season game to West Virginia this past weekend. The Wildcats enter the Big 12 tournament as the No. 3 seed and will face No. 6 seed TCU on Thursday.
The Horned Frogs (20-11) are the final ranked Big 12 team in this week’s poll, holding firm at No. 22 despite its 74-60 loss to Oklahoma in Norman on Saturday.
Despite not reaching the Top 25, Iowa State (23 votes) and West Virginia (15 votes) both received votes in the final regular season AP Poll, which just further proves the incredible depth of this conference.
