Oklahoma State Will Not Have 2023 Spring Game Due to Stadium Construction

Mike Gundy

Oklahoma State will be unable to have its annual spring football game this season due to the construction taking place at Boone Pickens Stadium.

The Oklahoma State Cowboys have been under the eyes of many following an offseason that saw some big names jump in the transfer portal including quarterback Spencer Sanders, linebacker Mason Cobb, safety Kanion Williams, safety Thomas Harper, and 12 other players.

Head coach Mike Gundy has had a proven track record of success in Stillwater and following an underwhelming 2022-2023 season, fans are eager to see a flash of something special. With the quarterback position still up in the air for Oklahoma State, many have been wondering how the team will respond to all of the recent changes. As well as losing key receivers and members on the defensive side of the ball, Gundy’s staff has their work cut out for them.

The spring football game was beloved by many because it allows fans, media members, coaches, and players to get a feel for the new look team and see all of the team’s new faces. Without a spring football game for Mike Gundy and company, fans’ anticipation will have to build up for a while longer.
