Joe Lunardi’s Latest Bracketology Moves Oklahoma State In, Eight Big 12 Teams Dancing

After Oklahoma State beat Oklahoma in an ugly game to wrap up Day 1 of the 2023 Big 12 Basketball Tournament, the Cowboys were moved from the “First Four Out” to the “Last Four In” by ESPN’s Joe Lunardi.

In Lunardi’s most recent Bracketology, released on Wednesday night, Oklahoma State landed an 11 seed in a play-in game against Penn State. The winner would play No. 6 seed Kentucky in Des Moines in the Midwest Region.

The other seven teams from Lunardi have been locks since the regular season ended on Saturday. Kansas is currently the No. 1 seed in the Midwest Region, however it’s worth keeping an eye on how the Jayhawks fare in the Big 12 Tournament this week since Bill Self is set to miss at least the opener with a health issue.

Elsewhere, Texas is listed by Lunardi as the No. 2 seed in the West Regional, while Baylor is the No. 2 seed in the East Regional. Kansas State comes in as the No. 3 seed in the South Regional, with TCU in the same regional as the No. 5 seed, plus Iowa State as the No. 5 seed in the East. And then there are the West Virginia Mountaineers, who Lunardi has as the No. 9 seed in the East.

The Big 12 Tournament continues on Thursday with four games as part of the quarterfinals. Iowa State plays Baylor, Kansas takes on West Virginia, Texas will face Oklahoma State and Kansas State meets TCU.

Selection Sunday takes place on Sunday, March 12th, at 5:00 p.m. CST on CBS.
