Oklahoma Spring Football Game to Air on ESPN+

The Oklahoma Sooners had a turbulent season, by their standards, in Brent Venables’ first year as head coach, but with the first-year troubles out of the way, the team is making headlines and waves this offseason.
Featuring the fourth best recruiting class in the nation, fans have been eagerly awaiting a sneak peak for a team that many believe could contend for a Big 12 title. ESPN announced that Oklahoma’s spring football game on April 22nd will be streaming through their network on ESPN+.
The Sooners are welcoming in new faces like five-star quarterback Jackson Arnold, five-star edge rusher Adepoju Adebawore, five-star safety Peyton Bowen, and more highly-toted recruits to campus and with ESPN+ streaming the event, expect a lot of eyes focused on Norman.
The Sooners finished off the 2022 regular season with an overall record of 6-7 in what made some fans question Venables’ hire as replacement following Lincoln Riley’s departure for USC. With the 2023-2024 season being the last year affiliated with the Big 12 Conference for the Sooners, it’s now or never for OU to close out their Big 12 time with a conference title.
The Sooners kick their season off on September 2nd against Arkansas State in Norman and kick off Big 12 play on September 23rd against the new-addition Cincinnati Bearcats.
