Mitch Lightfoot Trolls Arkansas Coach for Ripping His Shirt Off After Kansas Win

NCAA Basketball: Kansas State at Kansas

In one of the weirdest celebrations in college basketball history, Arkansas head coach, Eric Musselman tore off his shirt in celebration after beating the reigning champion Kansas Jayhawks on Saturday.

While the move was warranted after pulling off an upset of that magnitude, many fans around the world were left with a sour taste in their mouth following the loss, including former Jayhawk forward turned superfan Mitch Lightfoot.

Lightfoot, who fans in the comment sections have dubbed, “Mr. Backhanded compliment,” took to Twitter to troll the Arkansas faithful by mentioning how strange the celebration was from Musselman, considering it was only a round of 32 win.

While Lightfoot definitely has a point, Arkansas fans got the best of the Jayhawks after their team rallied late to take down the top-seed Jayhawks in what should be remembered as one of the premiere upsets of the 2023 NCAA Tournament.

Unfortunately for Big 12 fans, while the conference has been the best in college basketball all season long, many of the Big 12 teams have failed to deliver. With West Virginia falling to Maryland in the very first game of the March Madness tournament, Iowa State getting blown out by Pittsburgh, and now Kansas getting dethroned by Arkansas, the Big 12 has suffered some setbacks.

Texas, Baylor, Kansas State, and TCU are the last four remaining Big 12 schools in the tournament, and with Jayhawk fans taking an early exit in March, they more than likely will have to decide which of the four to cheer for.
