TCU’s Damion Baugh Goes Viral For Covering Spread at End of Gonzaga Game

If you are a sports bettor, there’s always a game within the game that keeps you on the edge of your seat until the game is completely over, regardless of the outcome.

Every once in a while, a bad beat comes around that leaves some folks groveling for hours, while others are left to celebrate, to the wonder of those out of the loop.

During last night’s Round of 32 game between Gonzaga and TCU, an all-time bad beat moment was born and will go down as one of the craziest in March Madness history.

With the Horned Frogs trailing by six points with less than a second to go, TCU guard Damion Baugh hit a three-point shot at the buzzer to bring the score to 84-81, in favor of the Bulldogs. However, the +4.5 point line for TCU bettors was covered with the shot, which was quite the consolation prize for those who backed the Frogs.

Several renditions of the all-time bad beat have garnered well over a million views, with Baugh’s shot being almost as big a headline as Gonzaga’s win to advance to the Sweet 16.

Baugh even responded to the madness with a tweet of his own.

Baugh and the TCU Horned Frogs ended the season at 22-14 after finishing fifth in an uber-competitive Big 12. Jamie Dixon will likely have some work to do next season to get the Frogs back to this point, having to replace several key pieces to this year’s team, including Mike Miles Jr.
