Texas Tech F Elijah Fisher Enters Transfer Portal

The Texas Tech Red Raiders could be losing a key member in freshman guard Elijah Fisher. Fisher took to Instagram to announce that he would be entering the transfer portal following the conclusion of the 2023 season.
The interesting aspect of Fisher’s decision is the possibility of returning to Lubbock. Fisher writes, “I am leaving open the option to return but after careful consideration, I have made the decision to enter the transfer portal as I explore the best options for my academic and basketball future.
Fisher saw a decent chunk of minutes during his first season in Lubbock, averaging 3.3 PPG to go along with 2.0 RPG. The 6-foot-6 guard from Ontario’s best game came in an 83-82 loss against Jamie Dixon and the TCU Horned Frogs back on February 25th where Fisher scored eight points, with one rebound and one steal.
Fisher marks the fourth Red Raider to enter the transfer portal this season following former head coach Mark Adams’ resignation during the Big 12 Tournament. Fisher joins the likes of C Fardaws Aimaq, F Robert Jennings, and G KJ Allen.
The Red Raiders not only have to fill their vacancy at head coach but they will also have to fill multiple positions with role players after an offseason that’s seen so many players jump ship.
