Tyree Wilson Leads Four Big 12 Selections in USA Today First-Round Mock Draft

Texas Tech pass rusher Tyree Wilson is a name that’s continually been seen in the top 10 picks of most NFL mock drafts around the country, and with USA Today releasing their mock draft, that narrative does not change.

Tyree Wilson headlines four Big 12 players selected in the first round of USA Today’s NFL Mock Draft joining Texas running back Bijan Robinson, TCU wide receiver Quentin Johnston, and Oklahoma tackle Anton Harrison.

Tyree Wilson was selected with the 6th overall pick by the Detroit Lions to join up with last year’s first-round pick for the Lions, edge rusher Aiden Hutchinson, forming one of the scariest pass-rushing tandems in the league.

The Washinton Commanders snag the Longhorns star back in Bijan Robinson with the 16th pick pairing him with Brian Robinson and Antonio Gibson to form a three-headed monster in the backfield.

The next Big 12 player to come off the board finds himself in a perfect spot with the New York Giants with the 25th pick of TCU Wide Receiver Quentin Johnston. Johnston adds some much-needed depth at the wide receiver position to add a playmaker for the recently paid Daniel Jones. After an underwhelming season with Sterling Shepard headlining the group, Johnston finds the perfect home.

The last player selected from the Big 12, Oklahoma’s Anton Harrison, adds some much-needed help protecting Joe Burrow on the Cincinnati Bengals. With the 28th pick in USA Today’s NFL mock draft, the Bengals snag the big tackle from Norman in an effort to close the gap with the Kansas City Chiefs.

The NFL Draft starts on April 27th in Kansas City and while USA Today’s draft was pretty solid overall, I think we’ll see some major surprises on draft night.
