Oklahoma State G Avery Anderson III Enters Transfer Portal

NCAA Basketball: Oklahoma State at West Virginia

The Oklahoma State Cowboys are losing one of the program’s key players in senior guard Avery Anderson III to the transfer portal. The senior guard spent four seasons in Stillwater seeing action in 109 total games.

Anderson is a big loss for the Cowboys as he averaged 11 PPG, 3.5 RPG, and 3.4 APG during the 2022-2023 season and while it was cluttered with injuries, Anderson brought a much needed veteran presence to Oklahoma State.

The guard from Texas has been a bookend of Mike Boynton’s team for the past four seasons and has been one of the more consistent players in the Big 12 Conference. The biggest game of the season for Anderson came against Iowa State back on January 21st where he scored 18 points with five assists and three rebounds in a 61-59 win over the Cyclones.

While Anderson’s future is up in the air, the Texas native should be getting looks from every team in the country in search of veteran guar play. Anderson has the size, ability, and mentality to join a needy squad and lead them to an NCAA Tournament bid in his first season with a new team.
