Taiyanna Jackson to Return for Kansas in 2023-24

The Kansas Jayhawks are getting back one of the biggest names in college basketball with senior center Taiyanna Jackson returning to Lawrence.

Jackson was a key part of the Jayhawk’s NIT Championship run averaging 17 points per game to go alongside 13 rebounds per game on 66.7% shooting from the field. If the Jayhawks women’s basketball team plans to make another run in the 2023-2024 season and push towards an NCAA Tournament bid, Jackson is a great grab for the future.

The Kansas Jayhawks women’s team is looking stacked for the 2023-2024 season with Jackson returning. The starting lineup now consists of Zakiyah Franklin who averaged 15.7 PPG last season earning First Team All-Big 12 Honors, Wyvette Mayberry who averaged 11.4 PPG last season, five-star freshman S’Mya Nichols, Chandler Prater who averaged 9.5 PPG, and Jackson who averaged 15.2 PPG and 12.7 RPG, good for third in the nation, earning First Team All-Big 12 Honors.

The Jayhawks women’s basketball team has the groundwork laid for a historically great 2023-2024 season, and even though the Jayhawks basketball season is still months away, Jackson returning to Lawrence is a massive start for a team looking to turn heads nationwide.
