On Wednesday, the Big 12 Conference announced that it is set to host the first-ever Big 12 business summit on May 22nd and 23rd in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.

The two-day event will take place just ahead of the 2023 Phillips 66 Big 12 Baseball Championship being held at Globe Life Field from May 24 through May 28.

According to a Big 12 press release, the Big 12 Business Summit will gather marketing and sales leadership staff from each Conference member institution for a symposium focused on key industry topics, best practices, networking opportunities, guest speakers, and more.

The release also says that the first-time event was established to create a space for new and existing members to share best practices in an effort to drive business forward.  Speakers at the Business Summit will include senior staff from the Conference office, executives from agency partners Endeavor and Translation, Big 12 Advisory Board members, and other industry leaders.

“As our Conference continues to innovate and grow, the first-ever Big 12 Business Summit will gather leadership from each institution to discuss best-in-class practices and industry opportunities,” Big 12 Commissioner Brett Yormark said. “The insights and strategies discussed during the Summit will allow our Conference to continue to trailblaze, as well as to build brands and drive revenue.”

Topics of discussion for the Big 12 Business Summit include Sponsorship Sales and Category Development, Marketing, Communications, Digital & Social Media, Facilities Management, Ticketing, and more. The Facilities Management portion of the Summit will be led by Oak View Group. Additionally, Oak View Group will provide insights for each Big 12 school on stadium programming and venue monetization opportunities. In 2022, the Big 12 tapped Oak View Group’s Prevent Advisors to enhance student-athlete safety and fan experience on gamedays across the Conference.
