Texas Tech’s Tyree Wilson to Visit With ‘Nearly Every Team in Top 10’: Report

Former Texas Tech edge rusher Tyree Wilson is one of the top prospects in the 2023 NFL Draft, and it appears that he’s a safe bet to go inside the first ten selections later this month.
During his time as a Red Raider, Wilson recorded 17 sacks and 33 tackles for loss, and totaled 37 pressures as a pass rusher in 2022 alone. At 6-6, 275 pounds, Wilson has the frame to be elite at the next level as well.
All of that combines to make him one of the most talented prospects at his position in this year’s draft, which is why he will have meetings with nearly all NFL teams with a top-ten pick, according to Ian Rapoport.
Wilson is the biggest prospect to come out of Lubbock since Patrick Mahomes, and he is drawing all kinds of attention as one of the best pure pass rushers that is available this year.
The latest Mock Draft from NFL.com has Wilson going fourth overall to the Indianapolis Colts. Here’s what NFL.com’s Bucky Brooks had to say about the pick.
“Adding a quarterback is a top priority, given that free-agent signing Gardner Minshew currently sits first on Indianapolis’ depth chart — but the grades on the available QB1 prospects do not match the Colts’ draft position. Wilson would give the team a young, energetic pass rusher to pair with Kwity Paye on the edges.”
The 2023 NFL Draft is set for Thursday, April 27 through Saturday, April 29, with Kansas City serving as the host city for the event.
