Former Missouri Coach Frank Haith to Join Texas Coaching Staff: Report

After earning the head coaching job in Austin, Texas HC Rodney Terry is adding to his staff by adding Frank Haith to the mix, according to Inside Texas.

This marks Haith’s second coaching stint with the Longhorns after previous coaching jobs with the Missouri Tigers, the Miami Hurricanes, and the Tulsa Golden Hurricane.

Haith spent time from 2001-2004 as an assistant coach for the Longhorns which became one of the many universities in his previous coaching stops. He also spent time with Texas A&M, UNCW, Penn State, Wake Forrest, and Elon University.

Following multiple assistant coaching stops, Haith accepted a head coaching job with the Missouri Tigers in the 2011-2012 season and stayed in Columbia for three seasons. In 2016, the University of Missouri announced findings of an internal investigation that uncovered violations occurring throughout Haith’s tenure at the school. As part of its self-imposed sanctions, Missouri vacated all wins from the 2013–14 season, bringing Haith’s official record while coaching the Tigers to 53–28 (25–20 in conference play).

Haith then spent time as the head coach at Tulsa from 2014-2022, where he resigned after the 2021-22 season. He would go on to join the Memphis Tigers as an assistant this past season. The Tigers had a solid season in the AAC finishing with an overall record of 26-9 and a conference record of 13-5 and earned an NCAA Tournament bid as an eight-seed.
