K-State’s Chris Klieman Tops On3’s Big 12 Head Coach Power Rankings

NCAA Football: Big 12 Football Championship-Texas Christian at Kansas State

While the offseason always brings forth tier lists and rankings from media members across the Big 12 landscape, today’s Big 12 Coach power rankings list comes from On3 Sports.

Kansas State head coach Chris Klieman headlines the Big 12 Conference as the best football coach following the Wildcats 2022-2023 Big 12 championship.

In one of the first complete coaching views including the new addition Big 12 teams, the list goes as follows. K-State’s Christ Klieman in first followed by nation champion runner-up Sonny Dykes. Lance Leipold checks in at number three after a tremendous job resurrecting the Jayhawks program.

Oklahoma State’s Mike Gundy owns the fourth spot on the list while spots five and six feature a strong representation of new addition teams with UCF’s Gus Malzahn and BUY’s Kelani Sitake. Spots seven through eleven on the Big 12 Coaches list rest with coaches who have been working their way up through the conference over the last few years in Iowa State’s Matt Campbell, Baylor’s Dave Aranda, Texas Tech’s Joey McGuire, Texas’ Steve Sarkisian, and Oklahoma’s Brent Venables.

The final three names popping up belong to a pair of new Big 12 members in Houston’s Dana Holgorsen and Cincinnati’s Scott Satterfield, and the final spot on the list is rounded out by West Virginia’s Neal Brown.

While only time will tell if these rankings will change in the 2023 season, the football season continues to work its way closer with every passing day.
