Kansas, K-State Alumni to Play in Sunflower Showdown Exhibition Match

The Sunflower Showdown is one of the biggest events in Big 12 Sports. The rivalry between the Jayhawks and the Wildcats is always a massive spectacle when the pair of teams clash.
In a Tweet from former K-State basketball player Jordan Henriquez Roberts, an official exhibition match between himself and a cast of former Wildcats and former Jayhawk, Brandon Rush and a mix of other Kansas Alumni.
While the official teams have yet to be announced, many fans are taking guesses about who will lineup alongside Rush and Henriquez-Roberts for their respective teams, with one fan asking if this will be the TBT teams, Purple & Black and Self Made, which were both featured in TBT tournaments, however it will not be those squads.
Rush and Henriquez-Roberts are listed as the team captains for the two alumni teams, “Self’s Army,” and “The Manhattan Boomers,” which still have a potential of each team featuring players from the TBT team.
Brandon Rush, the captain of Self’s Army gave some major praise about the event by saying, “This is going to be a great, family-friendly event for fans from both universities to watch some high-caliber basketball in a competitive environment.”
The game tips off on June 10th in Kansas City with the start with the highly anticipated Alumni Basketball League. For fans of their respective teams, the Sunflower showdown gets another chapter in its history.
