Oklahoma DL Kori Roberson Enters Transfer Portal

Oklahoma defensive lineman Kori Roberson announced that he intends to enter the transfer portal on Sunday, according to a post on Twitter.
The former three-star defensive lineman out of Houston (TX) was a member of the Sooners’ 2019 recruiting class, and was ranked as the No. 32 player at his position out of high school.
During his time in Norman, Roberson appeared in 26 games and recorded 29 tackles. However, he did not appear for the Sooners in 2022.
“No matter the course I take, I will forever be a Sooner, and have that OU DNA running through my veins,” Roberson wrote in his tweet.
Wherever Roberson lands, he will have two years of eligibility remaining. Losing Roberson is a hit to OU’s depth at a position of need, with the Sooners struggling along the defensive line in 2022. With Brent Venables and staff desperately trying to get better at that position by bringing in multiple transfers that re expected to contribute, it’s reasonable to believe that Roberson didn’t expect to play much of in Year 2 of the new regime.
Now, with one less body to rotate, its reasonable to expect Oklahoma to look to add at least one body in the portal before the 2023 season.
