2024 WR Kelly Daniels Commits to Oklahoma: Report

The Oklahoma Sooners have added a third member to their 2024 class Monday evening. According to a report by On3’s Hayes Fawcett, Franklinton (La.) HS wide receiver Kelly Daniels has committed to Brent Venables’ squad.

“The coaching staff stood out to me a lot! I love the way they coach and handle their players,” Daniels told Fawcett. “They make sure you’re good on and off the field. Also I liked the way they used Marvin Mims and they relate me to him.  I think I’m a perfect fit for them. They’re also a very great program and they are building a dominant team and I’m ready to be part of it. Also, the atmosphere behind Oklahoma is great. They show actual support and love.”

Per On3, 48.6% of predictions had Daniels headed to Norman. He has an On3 NIL Valuation of $5.8K.

Out of the major services, Rivals is the only one thus far that has a ranking in for the 5-foot-10, 151-pound pass catcher. The organization lists him as a three-star with a 5.6 rating, as the No. 16 player in the state of Louisiana.

New Oklahoma wide receivers coach Emmett Jones was his primary recruiter, and Daniels had some positive things to say about him.

“Me and Coach Emmett have a very strong relationship,” Daniels told Fawcett. “My guy Benton Duby as well, I spend a lot of time talking to him. And Coach V is a great coach. I talk to him as well. I feel I have a very strong bond with them and as well as the rest of the staff too.”

Daniels joins both quarterback Michael Hawkins and cornerback Jeremiah Newcombe as current commits for the 2024 Sooners class.
