Oklahoma Has Two Of The Highest Paid Players In The NFL

If you’re looking for a synonym for money, I guess it’s Oklahoma. Following the massive 5-year, $255 million dollar deal for Eagles quarterback and former Oklahoma Sooner Jalen Hurts, the Sooners now have two players in the top five highest players in the NFL.

With an average salary of 51M per year, Hurts leaped past the top four players including Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, Broncos quarterback Russel Wilson, Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray, and Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson.

The other Sooner on the list is Cardinals QB Kyler Murray. Murray signed a five-year $230.5 million dollar deal back in July of 2022 that cemented his place among the league’s top earners. Murry is making shy of $5M less per year than Jalen Hurts but while Kyler remains among the biggest earners, he has a mountainous comeback to focus on in the 2023-2024 season.

While this list is fun for fans to see it should matter to two people above everyone else, Oklahoma QBs Dillion Gabrial and Jackson Arnold. When looking at where to play college football both are smart to head to a university that’s produced two quarterbacks worth 200+ million dollars in the last five years.

If it wasn’t already settled, this is just another feather in Oklahoma’s cap when it comes to the QBU discussion. Oklahoma has produced two first-overall picks and now two of the NFL’s highest-paid players in the last six years. *mic drop*.
