Kansas-Texas Tech Softball Opener Postponed, Series Altered

Kansas Athletics

The Kansas Jayhawks and Texas Tech Red Raiders were set to start a three-game series Friday evening in Lawrence, but it’s been pushed back a day because of inclement weather that’s prevented the visitors from arriving on time. The two will now play a game each on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

First pitch for the series opener is at 2 p.m. CT Saturday. Games two and three will follow at 12 p.m. CT and 1 p.m. CT on the respective days.

It should be noted that fans who purchased tickets for the original opener can exchange them for any game the entire weekend. Fans may also purchase tickets for Monday’s game. Simply call the Kansas Athletics Department ticket office at (785) 864-3141 for more information or questions.

All three games of the series are set to be streamed via Big 12 Now on ESPN+.

Kansas arrives with a 20-19 overall record and 2-7 mark in Big 12 Conference play. It boasts an RPI of 61 entering the weekend.

Meanwhile, Texas Tech sports a better 29-17 overall record but 3-9 mark in league play. Its RPI sits at 67 heading into the matchup.

Both are obviously seeking series wins as they try to move onto the NCAA Tournament bubble. So, this weekend is a crucial three-game set for each squad.
