Oklahoma State Transfer Avery Anderson Announces Move to TCU

Mike Boynton and the Oklahoma State Cowboys’ loss is Jamie Dixon and the TCU Horned Frogs’ gain. Former Cowboys guard Avery Anderson announced his transfer to the ‘Frogs Saturday afternoon.
Anderson obviously is a big loss for the Cowboys, as he averaged double digits scoring each of the past three seasons, and it’s now an even bigger loss. He poured in 11.0 points per game this past season, while also notching 3.5 rebounds and 3.4 assists per contest during the 2022-2023 season.
The guard from Texas has been a bookend of Mike Boynton’s team for the past four seasons and has been one of the more consistent players in the Big 12 Conference. The biggest game of the season for Anderson came against Iowa State back on January 21 where he scored 18 points with five assists and three rebounds in a 61-59 win over the Cyclones.
While his future up in the air, the Texas native got looks from a ton of teams around the country seeking elite guard play, and he’s settled on a home not so far away from his home of Justin, Texas. Anderson has the size, ability and mentality to really make the Horned Frogs better as they try to reach a third straight NCAA Tournament appearance in the 2023-24 season.
