West Virginia Lands Montana State G RaeQuan Battle

The West Virginia Mountaineers have added into the fold a big time scorer Wednesday. Former Montana State guard RaeQuan Battle has transferred to Bob Huggins’ program, making for the Mountaineers’ fifth addition through the portal.
Battle joins Manhattan transfer guards Jose Perez and Omar Silverio, Arizona transfer guard Kerr Kriisa and Syracuse transfer center Jesse Edwards as newcomers to Morgantown. With that haul, West Virginia owns the No. 1 haul in the 247Sports Team Transfer Rankings.
Specifically in regards to Battle, he averaged 17.7 points per game on 46.9% shooting last season during a breakout campaign. He also added 2.9 rebounds per contest on his way to earning First Team All-Big Sky honors.
As part of that, he caught eyes around the nation when he erupted for 27 points on 9-of-17 shooting against Kansas State in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Battle previously exploded for 25 points in the Big Sky Championship Game, as the Bobcats earned a trip to the Big Dance.
Battle started his career in Seattle with the Washington Huskies and played a couple of seasons there, before transferring to Montana State. Over the course of his career, he’s averaged 10.4 points and 2.3 boards per game.
He has one year of eligibility remaining when he arrives in Morgantown.
