West Virginia at Penn State Football Kick Off Time Announced

NCAA Football: Virginia Tech at West Virginia

In one of the most highly-anticipated opening matchups in all of college football, the West Virginia Mountaineers and the Penn State Nittany Lions are set to clash on September 2nd at 7:30 PM, nationally televised on NBC.

The opening matchup will be played at Beaver Stadium in Happy Valley, which is usually a pretty good recipe for a sold-out crowd. The Mountaineers are fresh off an underwhelming season in the Big 12 Conference, but with the program embracing the “trust the climb” mentality, WVU should generate some big viewing numbers.

While West Virginia still has many questions to answer before the home opener, like who will start under center, the idea of two college football heavyweights kicking the season off under the bright lights is enough to make any fan excited.

On the flip side of West Virginia figuring things out, the Penn State Nittany Lions have been prolific and nationally relevant for the last decade. West Virginia is currently listed as a 16.5-point underdog against Penn State even though we are still months away from gameday. Neal Brown knows the 2023 season is a must-win for him, and in the event that the Mountaineers can pull off an upset in Happy Valley, West Virginia could make some noise in the Big 12 this fall.
